Description

This qualification reflects the role of an individual working as a senior civil works designer or a para-professional designer, who supports professional engineers. They perform tasks that are broad, specialized, complex and technical and include strategic areas and initiating activities. They are responsible for the design of complex projects to ensure the implementation of the client’s site requirements and are required to demonstrate self-directed application of theoretical and technical knowledge and initiate solutions to technical problems or management requirements.

Entry Requirements:

Whilst there are no formal entry requirements for this qualification in the Training Package, the institute’s entry requirements are as below:

  • Completion of Australian Year 12 or equivalent.
  • IELTS (Academic) band score 6 or equivalent score in other English tests including, PTE, TOEFL, and CAE.
  • 18 years or older at commencement of course.

Training Pathway:

After achieving RII60520 – Advanced Diploma of Civil Construction Design, individuals could progress to:

  • Bachelor of Civil Engineering
  • Any other equivalent qualification

Employment Pathway:

This qualification provides the skills and knowledge to potentially gain employment as a:

  • Civil Construction Supervisor
  • Civil Design Draftsperson
  • Senior Civil Works Designer
