Purpose

This qualification reflects the role of support workers who complete specialised tasks and functions in aged services; either in residential, home or community based environments. Workers will take responsibility for their own outputs within defined organisation quidelines and maintain quality service delivery through the development, facilitation and review of individualised service planning and delivery. Workers may be required to demonstrate leadership and have limited responsibility for the organisation and the quantity and quality of outputs of others within limited parameters.

Entry Requirements:

Whilst there are no entry requirements stipulated in the training package, WMIT requires its participants to meet the following criteria:

    • 18 years or older at commencement of course.
    • IELTS (Academic) band score of 6 or equivalent.
    • Completion Australian Year 11 or equivalent.

Education Pathway:

The further study pathways available to students who undertake this qualification include:

  • Diploma of Community Services OR
  • Diploma of Nursing OR
  • Any other relevant qualification at Diploma level.

Duration:

This course will be delivered over 60 weeks as following:

  • Classroom Delivery:40 Weeks
  • Practical Placement: 8 Weeks
  • Holidays:12 Weeks

Employment Pathway:

Once you have successfully completed the CHC43015 Certificate IV in Ageing Support you can apply for jobs within the Aged Care industry, which may include:

  • Personal Care Worker
  • Aged Care Activity Worker
  • Care Service Team Leader
  • Care Supervisor (Aged Care)
